GP Partnership Interview Support
General
practice is a highly competitive part of healthcare within the NHS,
particularly when it comes to securing partnership posts. A salaried GP or GP
registrar who manages to secure a partnership at a successful surgery can look
forward to many perks: greater continuity of care, improved pay, better career
opportunities and a job for life if you choose. Subsequently it is no surprise
that competition for positions is incredibly fierce, with over a hundred
applicants applying for a post being the norm now.
With
the number of applicants to partnership posts available being so high, it is of
the utmost importance that you prepare as thoroughly as possible in the
build-up to your interview. Moreover, introducing a new partner to a practice
is a highly important decision for existing partners to consider and you can
expect to be rigorously assessed in interview. How do they think you would cope
with the new demands of extra meetings, QOF administration, dealing with
practice-related problem and an often steep learning curve? These are all
questions that the existing partners will consider when reviewing your
application and ones which they will want to be undoubtedly assured of.
The
amount of pressure on your interview performance can be intense and many will
falter under such scrutiny. Our GP Partnership Interview Course though will
help to alleviate the stress from your preparation beforehand, as well as coach
you in practical techniques to help support you in your interview. As well as
showing you how to find the post most suitable to you and your talents, after having
attended our critically acclaimed course you will be primed to answer all
possible questions you may face on the day and able to deliver an excellent
performance to set you out from the host of other applicants.
The
day will include:
·
A full mock interview, including advice
on interview attire,
verbal and non-verbal
communication and how to build rapport with the interviewer
·
How to best to find out important
information, including details of remuneration and the level of morale at the
practice, so you can make a fully-informed choice about which practice to join
·
Demonstrating how you can use your
previous experience to demonstrate your ability in each skills area – what can
you offer the practice?
·
Correctly preparing your CV and cover
letter, and how to tailor each to the specific practice you are interested in
·
Looking at the reasons why you may want
to become a partner
·
Showing how you can use all the
resources at your disposal to find partnership vacancies
