Teach The Teacher Course for Doctors
Designed to help
you grow and improve as a medical teacher, our Teach The Teacher course is
applicable to doctors of all grades and specialties. Introducing you to the
principles and theory behind teaching within a healthcare setting, our medical
teaching course will not only allow you to become more confident within a
teaching capability, but show you how to self-assess and enhance your own
teaching methods.
Run in a small
group format, our CPD accredited two-day workshop looks to introduce delegates
to practical teaching skills specific to a medical content. Features include:
·
Characteristics that make up an
informative and effective medical teacher
·
Design and deliver one-to-one
sessions and group teaching sessions
·
Principles and differences
between formal and informal teaching – how should you approach each?
·
Understand the different ways in
which different people learn
·
Interpersonal skills to make the
transfer of information from teacher to learner all the more effective
·
How to
appropriately analyse feedback you receive on your teaching skills so
as to improve and develop further
·
The appropriate ways in which to
present and project yourself so as to exude the presence and assertiveness of
an assured medical teacher
With the steadily growing importance placed upon
the teaching of junior colleagues and medical students, it is of the utmost
importance that doctors enroll on a course that emphasises teaching in a
clinical setting.
